How Many Stages Are There For RRB NTPC 2022 Exam? What Are The Important Topics In It?

RRB NTPC 2022 is a competitive exam that requires candidates to have expertise in all subjects. There are 2 types of RRB NTPC exams:

  1. RRB NTPC for CBT1
  2. RRB NTPC for CBT2

Stages for RRB NTPC Selection

The recruitment process involves 3 types of tests and Document/Medical verification. RRB NTPC syllabus for both the exams is the same; however, their exam pattern is different. All the selections are made strictly based on the below-mentioned recruitment stages:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT)- 1st Stage

An aspirant is required to clear this preliminary exam, an objective test to reach the Mains.

2. Computer Based Test (CBT)- 2nd Stage

The Main Exam is a descriptive test that a candidate needs to clear for getting qualified for undergoing the skill test.

3. Computer-Based Aptitude Test/Typing Skill Test (As Applicable)

  • Typing Skill Test is another skill test held for selecting Junior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk Cum Typist, Junior Account Cum Assistant Typist, Senior Clerk Cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, and Accounts Clerk Cum Typist posts.
  • The computer-based Aptitude test is a skill test conducted for the selection of Traffic Assistant and Station Master.

4. Document Verification

Document verification includes Date of Birth Proof, Caste Certificates, Minority Community Declaration, Income Certificate, and Education Qualification Mark Sheet.

5. Medical Examination

The near vision test is conducted under Medical examination for Binocular vision, Colour Vision, Myopic Vision, and Night Vision.

Exam Pattern for RRB NTPC

Exam Pattern for RRB NTPC Stage-1

The 1st Stage is of a screening nature that uses normalised scores for shortlisting candidates for CBT 2nd stage as per their merit. Moreover, 1/3rd mark will be deducted from all candidates for every wrong answer.

Stage 2 includes a negative marking of 1/3rd for the candidates providing wrong answers. Moreover, the level of difficulty of the stage 2 question is difficult compared to the Tier I paper.

Normalisation of marks will be done in this Stage.

RRB NTPC Syllabus

The topics prescribed in the RRB NTPC 2022 syllabus are the same for the CBT 1st and 2nd Stages. However, only the difficulty level may vary. The syllabus consists of class 10th, 12th, and graduation levels.

Primarily the RRB NTPC syllabus contains 3 subjects, which are:

1. Mathematics

The syllabus for Mathematics includes Simple and Compound Interest, LCM and HCF, Number Systems, Fractions, Decimals, Mensuration, Percentage, Elementary Algebra, Profit and Loss, Time and Distance, Time and Work, etc.

2. General Awareness

The General Awareness RRB NTPC Syllabus consists of Indian Literature, Indian Economy, Transport Systems in India, Basics of Computer, History of India and the World, Art and Culture of India, Indian Polity and Governance, Games and Sports, Flagship Government Programs, etc.

3. General Intelligence and Reasoning

Preparing for the General and Reasoning section will make you go through Coding and Decoding, Syllogism, Mathematical Operations, Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, Analogies, Interpretation of Graphs, Seating Arrangements, Puzzle, etc.
